After studied and worked at Nina Ricci, Léonie and Marius gave life to Mal-Aimée, a women ready-to-wear brand which is ultra sophisticated without losing its modernity. It is a signature which is modern, chic, poetic, and totally in tune of the time.
Who are you?
We are Léonie Hostettler and Marius Borgeaud, the two designers of MAL-AIMÉE. We are French-Swiss and we have created our brand in Paris in 2010 after working with Olivier Theyskens in Nina Ricci.
How did you start in fashion?
Fashion is the sum of elements that nourishes us: Music, dance and architecture. Many arts and references that translates our desire to express beauty.
How would you define your style?
The lady MAL-AIMÉE is multiple. She is feminine and androgynous, cultivated and be trust in herself, free and awesome in her pumps.
What inspires you?
The ambivalence, the duality and the contradiction. The seduction when she is fierce, the solemnity behind her beauty. The euphoric melancholia. The woman that inspires us is like a bird on a branch, frail, light and elusive.
What are you most proud of?
To propose clothes with exceptional quality, made in France down to the smallest details and finishes at an accessible price. The liberation of luxury!
Where can we find your collection?
Online on L'Exception, which we have lay our first trust. And in worldwide high-end multi-brand stores.
If your brand was a music, a movie, a cocktail...
It will be the quote of Michel Tournier « A melancholy song in which an unloved girl due to her infamous origin, becomes dangerously desired young girl »
